Explore New York City

Happy hour, neighborhood by neighborhood

Start close to home, the office, or wherever you’re meeting friends. Happier Hour covers 18 NYC neighborhoods, with schedules and food and drink specials at bars and restaurants. Choose an area, select your day, then compare the listed times and prices. Switch to the map to see where each spot is before you head out.

Manhattan

Browse from the Upper East and Upper West Side to Midtown and the Financial District, plus downtown neighborhoods including the East Village, Lower East Side, SoHo, and West Village.

Brooklyn

Our Brooklyn guide currently covers Williamsburg, Greenpoint, and Bushwick. Pick a neighborhood to compare its listed food and drink specials, then check the map for a convenient meeting spot.

Queens

Looking in Queens? Start with Long Island City, our current Queens coverage. Check individual schedules for the day you’re visiting rather than assuming a weekday deal runs all weekend.

Before you go

Planning happy hour in NYC

A weekday drink, a weekend catch-up, or a bite before dinner: the right deal depends on when you can get there and what you want to order. Here’s how to narrow it down.

What time is happy hour in NYC?

Many NYC happy hours fall in the late afternoon and early evening, often around 4–7 PM on weekdays, but there’s no citywide schedule. Start and end times vary by venue and day. Check the listing for your chosen day, especially if you’re arriving after work and might only catch the end of a special.

Are there happy hours on Saturdays and Sundays?

Some venues offer weekend specials, but a Monday-to-Friday deal doesn’t automatically apply. Choose a neighborhood, then select Saturday or Sunday to see listings for that day. You can start with the Lower East Side Saturday guide or explore a different area below the search controls.

How do I find a happy hour near me?

Choose the neighborhood you’re in, or the one you’re heading to, from our neighborhood guide. Use the list to compare specials and the map view to check locations. Open a venue’s details for its address and schedule before deciding whether it’s worth the walk or subway ride.

Can I find food specials as well as drinks?

Yes. Listings can include discounted food alongside beer, wine, cocktails, and well drinks. What’s available depends on the venue: not every drinks special comes with a food deal. Open the venue’s details to see its published specials and prices, and check with the venue about any menu restrictions.

How much do happy-hour drinks cost in NYC?

There isn’t one price that fits every neighborhood or drink. Compare the listed price for what you actually want to order: a fixed-price cocktail, a percentage discount, and a buy-one-get-one offer are different kinds of value. Allow for tax and tip when planning your budget, and confirm current prices with the venue.

Can I find late-night happy hours?

Check the schedules in your chosen neighborhood for windows that extend into the evening. A bar staying open late doesn’t mean its happy hour does, and selecting “Today” shows that day’s listings rather than only deals happening right now. Check both the start and end time before heading over.

Do I need a reservation for happy hour?

Policies depend on the venue. Check its website or contact it directly, particularly for a group. Ask whether the special is available at tables or only at the bar, and whether you need to arrive or order before the cutoff. Happier Hour helps you compare options; it doesn’t book tables.

Behind the guide

How we collect happy hour information

Our details come from online research and in-person visits. Listings may go a while without being rechecked, so we don’t promise that every special is current. A “Last updated” date records an update to the listing, not a guarantee that the venue has recently confirmed it.

Prices, menus, and schedules can change. Check with the bar or restaurant before making a special trip. Spotted an outdated deal or a happy hour we’re missing? Message us on Instagram at @itshappierhournyc.
